Due to a basic design defect the product can be used only for making maggie or boiling eggs. The base which is approximately of 15 cms is of plastic with a 10 cm metal plate in the centre. So you have plasic touching the hot metal plate. Both are joined together with a sealant probably silicone so for light heating it will last for about 6 months.
