Overall it's a nice book written in a very crisp language, easy to understand.
I feel the solved examples aren't that many and also does not cover a large variety of problems.

It's a good concept building book but for modern control many important topics are missing. Modern control really comes at the very end of the book which clearly isn't enough for a proper grasp of the subject. Still I would say you can go for it.

Best book in the market, but Laplace derivations should have been added in this edition to make it a complete handbook of control systems

If any body wants to understand control system theory with MATLAB from root level by easy understanding, I think this is the best one, where all the quarries are solved in a very lucid way.

Modern Control Engineering book by Ogata is a rigorous book written on Control systems but it lacks examples and at sometimes it seems incomplete. Plus it does bot contain signal flow graphs.
Automatic Control Systems by B.C. Kuo is much better!
