Fantastic account of Rafi Saab's life.

This is a very well written account of Rafi Saab's life. I had read hindi version earlier, but this one is by far the best biographical account. Many unknown facts about him were very well captured in the book. Few

0) His first public performance in presence of K.L. Saigal
1) His love for cars, food...
2) His overly generous nature. Many such accounts are covered in the book.

The story behind the man!

Any Indian who grew up before the 1990's would have done so on a diet of Rafi songs. Sadly there is little quality stuff written on the man. This book fills the gap admirably, written by his daughter-in-law and translated in to English. There are of course gaps and one would have loved to hear of the great singer's views, likes & dislikes. At some places the text gets down to merely listing songs, but overall despite this is a good read.

I was expecting a great deal of information on one of India's Finest Singer Ever but unfortunately, this book ended up as a disappointment. Except for First and the Last Chapters, all the chapters in between contain useless information about the life of the Author as to When and Where she was born, brought up and all about her parents, her family and her lifestyle and her love of movies and troubles etc. etc. which is irritating to read. WHO THE HELL IS INTERESTED ABOUT THE AUTHOR'S LIFE?? We...

A must read for all Rafi fans

What a lovely book this was. Once I started reading it, I didn't want to let go until it was finished. A huge thank you to the author for shedding some more light on the life of my favourite singer and the man behind the voice.
