Run Run Run

Seriously run to the hills this book is a must read for people on a flight out on Bombay/Mumbai thinking phew made it to out Australia/New York/London finally here I come.Pure venom certified on every thing any one could hate about Mumbai.Kudos(?) for most of the writers for experiencing the lowest of low on the Mumbai experience.Want to make it HUGE in the west (Saalam Mumbai,Bandit Queen,City of joy,Slum Dogs etc) trodden path this is your tkt out.It works for some.AVOID.

Good one

Some of the stories were really good, especially that of twin brothers. But there were far too many stories of eunuchs and prostitutes which were without any real stories. At most those were a glimpse at their lives.

Non- Satisfactory....Complete uphappy

Leaving 2 to 3 stories all stories revolves around sex, Eunuch etc. there are many thing that could be explored. Many stories end abruptly. Mumbai has many things to say... Completely unhappy with the book and from the renowned author.

Fantastic!

The book is amazing. There are some 12 short stories and i have read them all. Altough the story ends abruptly which is the main reason why you would wanna read the last paragraph again. I think its fantastic how they come up with such an story and end it so well, you are stuck in that story for sometime unless u read the next one. Its not necessary that you need to know how every story ends. I think Altaf has done an excellent job. This book do deserves and award.

Are you serious the author won an award for his previous work?

The book stories are highly bizarre stories with disappointing and vague endings. I have read 9 of the 14 stories in the book, the only reason why I continue to read the book is to find some "Award Winner" matter.

The stories that I have read are fairly novice in nature. For me this book is complete waste of time (exact reason why I write my review before anyone else makes the same mistake).
