For instance, snakes that coil up in her shoes and the frogs that love her toilet tank.
My Husband and other Animals is a compilation of amusing stories. Each chapter in the book is witty, short, entertaining and well written. Set in a jungle theme, you will find almost all types of birds, animals and insects mentioned in this book. Deers, monkeys, civets, jungle cats, porcupines and termites, each have their own special place in the book.
The book doesn’t only talk about animals and wildlife. Lenin frequently mentions her husband’s special acquaintances like the Costa Rican gold diggers, ecologists, snake catchers, birdwatchers, and tribal people. Lenin’s best narrations are her stories about Rom’s encounters in the wild, and some of these narrations are from his life. Stories about the nettle attack, Rom’s color blindness, the pleasure of having instant noodles in a harsh wet jungle and their bizarre encounters with some crazy animal dealers are a delight for the reader.
