A brilliant book and a worthwhile read. The narration sets it apart from others in the league.
By choosing to narrate every character in the first person at various points of time, that author ensures that you have access to unbiased facts. This gets you involved even more with the characters you identify/ empathize with and adds to the thrill that builds up as the novel nears its end.

First about the book. This is a collector's item. There are no words to describe the book. The story has been woven in a different but immaculate way. It has so many phrases and statements that tickle your mind and leave a lasting impression. A worthwhile read that can be gone through again and again for its sheer beauty of writing. And I am happy that now I have a copy of it resting on my bookshelf.

Excellent piece of work from Pamuk. This is the first time I'm reading Pamuk. Impressed very much by his writing. The paper quality and printing and binding is also good in faber for this book. I aso bought in this publication. But it is worst

once more...thanks to the flipkart team..got the book wrapped up in perfect condition.


the story was awesome..i began reading the book on a train journey from cochin to mumbai and i never ever got bored. This book is an eye opener for medieval Turkey and there is no much better mystery than anyother book i hv read so far....must read...

Wow what a book, very good story, all the characters are well crafted and well defined, when you read this book you literally go to Istanbul or at-least you can imagine Istanbul , the story is gripping and its a page turner and you will not feel like dropping the book at all, you want to finish this book in one single sitting.
