Description
This is Lord Swraj Paul of Marylebone’s story. A man born into a business household in Jalandhar in British India, who was the first in his family to study abroad – that, too, at MIT – became a steel magnate in Britain, before being appointed a peer in the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and privy councillor to the British monarch. It is also a tale of his poignant journey from Calcutta to London to seek medical treatment for his four-year-old terminally ill daughter; but in vain. And the tragic death of a son at the prime of his life. He has rubbed shoulders with royalty and heads of government; and was especially inspired by Indira Gandhi, who took him into confidence. Above all, it is about a never-say-die spirit of a nonagenarian.
