Sita (Waheeda Rehman) is saved by Ram (Manoj Kumar) one night while she is sleepwalking. Sitas father fixes her marriage with Ram. The two get married. But after marriage, Sita astounds everyone with her strange behavior. She spends long periods of time outside the house at night, with everyone, including her mother-in-law attributing it to be an act of infidelity rather than her illness of sleepwalking. But then it seems as if Sita is drawn to some unknown facts from her past life
