Beware of version - v3

I purchased this mainly for installing dd-wrt. There are v1, v2 and v3 versions available and only first two are popular and supports open firmwares. The flipkart sells v3 but it doesn't mention anywhere so it was useless to me !
Other than this disappointment, delivery service was good and router itself is stable but it didn't serve my purpose.
Flipkart must mention part and version numbers of tech products even firmwares it ships with, if applicable !!

Excellent Product:Breeze like wind

Package was neatly done. Instructions were properly given. Being an Expert user it took 2 mins to set it up with Windows 8 laptop.

Provides most the options I require from this device. The only disappointment is this is not a v4 device rather the WSRetail shipped me the v2 device. But v2 device supports OpenSource Routers Firmware, I'm happy anyway with this.

v4 - perfect for OpenWRT

Only reason I bought this was for OpenWRT & it works very well with it.

The only con I see is that the 5GHz signal strength is very very low. Not sure if it's a hardware problem or a firmware problem. I never ran it with the factory software, so can't say.

Good buy, if OpenWRT/DD-WRT is your thing.

Also, the 2.4GHz signal is much better when you stand it up vertically, as shown in the pic on this page.

2.5Ghz band is superb i got range of 20 m with two thick walls in between.
5 Ghz is useful for HD video transmission. I have accessed 1080p resolution video from HDD connected to router and received through WD TV live. its superb quality. there in no jerks at all.

Beast Of All Routers ! Superb Speed , Rage is Good ....

I needed a Router that would spread the Internet at my work Place, it has 7 Rooms.

this gave me at-least 3 bars of connectivity on every device at every corner, speed was excellent when tested .

Product is working fine as mentioned in the description. I have a larger space at house and the high range of the product is not as good as I thought it would be. USB play is also good when played via thier iOS app "Netgear Genie". If you are looking for a optimal product and have more budget, then go for higher product. "Netgear WNDR4300" is latest and should be given advantage over this considering a minimal difference in thier costs.

At this price I'd expect a much better range than average routers. vLan support works great. So does multi band support. USB HDD support is great for playing HD videos remotely.

A decent buy

Received the router yesterday. Great job Flipkart on delivery and packaging. As usual flawless!
About the router, setup is as easy as a flip of the coin. Netgear Genie is another good software that helps you control your network. A true dual band router, gives significant improvements over quality in 5Ghz range. Guest network is a good option if you want to provide internet access to your guests and at the same time dont want them to access your local network.

Like Aaron mentioned, this is v3 of the product with a Broadcom chip. I bought it expecting to get the Atheros chip based one (v1 and v2); a different model which had good reviews. v3 did not have as many good reviews, primarily because of lack of support from 3rd party firmwares.

I did not have any issues with the router as such though; It performs quite well. Not sure I am getting the range I expected though. While checking reviews, do make sure your are looking for the reviews of the v3 v...
