Summary Of The Book

Komal Mehta presents a fresh story in her debut novel Nick Of Time where she makes her characters take life changing decisions in the nick of time. The story involves three young characters Shagun, Alehya, and Vicky who are connected to each other in some way. Shagun and Vicky are going to tie the knot very soon and Alehya is Shagun’s childhood friend.

The story begins when Alehya comes back to Chandigarh after a decade. It’s her friend Shagun’s wedding and Alehya is here to be a part of the biggest day in her friend’s life. However, the twist in the tale comes when Alehya meets Shagun’s would be husband, Vicky. He is not the kind of man Alehya would ever approve of.

Vicky is a person who is completely sorted out in his life. He knows precisely what he expects from life. He is so planned in life that he has taken approval of his loved ones for his decision of marrying Shagun and that is one reason why he is looking forward to this wedding. But, he is not able to impress her fiancée’s best friend and does not have her approval.

Shagun is too excited for her marriage as her lifelong dream is about to come true. Since her childhood, she has dreamt of getting married someday. But when her best friend comes to Chandigarh to attend her marriage, Shagun figures out that Alehya and Vicky are childhood frenemies. How will this marriage take place? Will Shagun marry Vicky irrespective of Alehya’s thoughts about him? Or will Vicky be able to clear his image in the eyes of Alehya? Will Alehya change her mind? Or will she try to convince Shagun and stop her from marrying Vicky?

Komal Mehta takes the reader on a ride as she unveils the story further where the characters struggle with issues of confusion, guilt, and love to figure out what they truly want from life. Once they get know what their heart truly desires, they will have to take important decisions of life just in time to ensure that their dreams don’t get shattered.
