Flipkart official Review
A cult-director of horror movies. His twenty-four year old daughter, who is found dead in an abandoned building in New York and presumably the case, is closed as suicide. An investigative journalist who thinks that the daughter did not commit suicide and close on the trail of the director. Scott McGrath has a mission to uncover Cordova’s life, who was last seen in public about thirty years ago.
He now lives isolated, presumably on his own land, in his palatial home called The Peak. This further drives Scott to get to know the truth about Cordova and why he is always shrouded in the mystery of the deaths of his loved ones. This is where the story of “Night Film” by Marisha Pessl just begins.
“Night Film” has been written quite differently. It has pictures and links to the mystery behind Cordova and at the same time, the writing is way too strong. At some point, I put down the book because it was way too scary. Pessl makes you look over your shoulder and check for monsters under the bed. “Night Film” is truly going to be a classic read.
Night Film is a thriller novel about a journalist who follows the mysterious death of a prodigy.
Summary of the Book
Scott McGrath investigates the mysterious death of Ashley Cordova who was found in an abandoned warehouse in Lower Manhatten. While other agencies quickly file this as a suicide, McGrath follows the trail which brings him to the legendary recluse, horror film director Stanislas Cordova, Ashley's father and a man who hasn't been seen in thirty years. McGrath finds himself going deeper and deeper into Cordova's world, one that could cost him his life.
