must-have walkaround lens

Have been using this lens for over 6 years now, on both FX (F75) and DX (D80) cameras. Excellent for available light photography; pleasing bokeh.
Overall: excellent value for money
nb:
1. will not autofocus with newer Nikon DX bodies which do not have AF screw in the camera body.
2. in DX format, effective focal length is 75mm

Brilliant

Simple, cheap but superb quality lens. Sharpness is just mind blowing. Fabulous for night photography.

Note: Will not autofocus on 3000 & 5000 series DX bodies and effective focal length is 75mm and aperture F2.7 in DX formats.

Just wow!

First of all, this is a no frills manual lens, without autofocus capabilities on most of Nikon DSLR. So unless you want to make the effort of shooting in manual mode, stay away from it.

This is the cheapest lens with which you can start doing potrait photography. The controls are fairly simple and it takes some YouTube tutorials to master using them. The lens creates good background blur, but it's recommended using a tripod while taking shots at the higher range of f-stops.

Another area whe...

Perfect product!

Shoot with Nikon 5200 with manual focus. Though tough for beginner may find smooth,by a little practice with an idea of manual focusing. As every body knows, will not auto focus with non-motorable Nikon dslr. One tip for manual focusing is lock the aperture at 22, and then the Nikon camera(non-motorable) aperture will be controlled by the camera dial, then adjust focussing manually with the help of the lens dial ring.
One disadvantage is that at a very low light manual focussing is a proble...
