The Nikon Coolpix L22 is a 12 megapixel point and shoot camera, and is powered by Nikon?s EXPEED digital image-processing concept. The Coolpix L22 has a 4:3 aspect ratio and user can also switch to 16:9 aspect ratio. This Nikon camera uses the 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor and has Nikon's Electronic VR image stabilization and Motion Detection software.

The Coolpix L22 provides a good one hand grip. The camera weighs 183g and has dimension of 97.7 x 60.5 x 28.3 mm. This Nikon camera has a 3-inch TFT LCD screen with a 230,000 dot pixels resolution and supports Live View. The camera has an internal memory of 19 MB and additional memory can be added using a SD or a SDHC memory card. The Nikon Coolpix L22 is powered by two Alkaline AA batteries which can click up to 240 pictures. A user can also buy and use EN-MH2 and Lithium batteries which can click up to 420 and 660 shots, respectively.

The camera has an Auto Focus option with normal focus range of 30 cm and macro focus range of 5 cm. The Coolpix L22 has an automatic ISO sensitivity ranging from ISO 160 to 1,600. The camera features an inbuilt flash and has various flash modes such as Auto, On, Off, Red-eye, Fill-in and Slow Syncro. The shutter speed ranges from 4 sec to 1/2000 sec, while the aperture ranges from F3.1 - F6.7.

Features and Connectivity

This Nikon Coolpix camera has 16 scene modes to shoot in various settings. This Nikon camera also has face detection feature, along with shutter function where the camera clicks the picture only if subject is laughing and warns user if subject blinks. The Coolpix L22 supports JPEG format for images and AVI format for videos. It shoots video at a resolution of 640x480 at 30fps. In terms of connectivity, the Nikon Coolpix L22 supports USB 2.0.
