The best part is it offers effectively the same image quality as the higher-end D7000.

This is the camera, real camera. I've owned this for 3 months. Promise, this will be the right choice of anyone who seeking upper entry level SLR. Images even with it's 18-55 Kit lense are stunning..! This lens synchronize very well with the camera. I've also bought Nikkor 40mm micro lens through flipkart. This is currently selling at the 29-33k price bracket, which is the sweet spot and its currently the best value for money out there, slightly higher than the D3100 (forget the cheapskate 1100D) and cheaper than the D3200.

This camera is a complete package for those who is looking for a very good camera now and wants to upgrade with additional lenses in future. Cannot say 37k is cheap but its definitely worth every rupee.

Pros:
Proper keys in place makes it easy to handle.
When compared to canon 550d this is really fast even with flash and i never saw it showing "Busy" because of flash getting heated up.
Auto-focus is just awesome than any other cameras in this range. 11 dots. Fast enough.

A grt camera for entry level DSLR
However, not finding the tilt function of screen very useful till now.

I went for the camera with 18 -55 lens
Today , after ordering 55-200 mm lens thinking it wud ve been better to buy the camera body and a 18- 200 mm lens to eliminate the lens changing process.

The picture quality is awesome.

It all started 2 years ago when i got a chance to use a friend's canon 550d, it felt a lot better than the usual point and shoot and also the image quality was visibly superior, so decided to get a DSLR of my own.
