Excellent product, But 18-55mm kit lens might not be sufficient for most of the people..... I later bought a 55-200mm VR lens. Battery life is very good..

About the product - Very good camera. I am a beginner with SLR. It was little difficult at first but then later on every thing seemed very easy.

UI is not that bas as some people say. I haven't experienced a cannon but this one is definitely good.

After so much research and waiting i bought this camera, and i was not disappointed. I am using this camera for about 2 months now and i am still discovering new features. I was confused between D3200,D5100 and canon 600d . Finally i zeroed in on d5100 because of the larger sensor, swivel screen and high ISO, which performs very well in low light conditions.
I bought it for about 28k, and after a few days the price dropped to 25~ k. So, if you can wait watch out for the price drops.
