As everybody knows about D5100, it is possibly the best dslr available in the market in this price range. But I am not happy with flipkart. When I received it, both the lens caps were open.

Best budget cam for beginners
Folks its not about big mega pixels for ur dslr. So dont worry about mega pixels.
This cam is on par with D90's except for lesser focus points & Continuous shutter memory buffer.
Im beginner i find this is awesome device. and 18-55mm lens is enough. Although i have a 50mm 1.8 prime lens & 70-300mm 3.5-5.6 VR. i find 18-55mm for outing and vacations.
Awesome device.

A beautiful product by Nikon.
A must entry level camera for a beginner. If u have budget, close ur eyes and go for it. Worth every buck you spend.

Experience using Nikon D5100 SLR
This is my fisrt camera.I was in confusion to buy Canon or Nikon,But finally i bought Nikon.I cannoy comment on Canon with out using it.
I started using this to click pics and Nikon is really good from my point of view.

its just a awesome cam......at this price.......but its the first time i m disappointed for taking its delivery time.....it takes approx 5days from ordering....... but this DSLR is too good.......... :)

Pretty good for beginners
Pretty good picture clarity. Easy to use. Only problem I am facing is with video capture. The lens continuosly keeps focusing making noise and the noise is also captured in the audio. This could be a setting thing but unable to resolve this.
