i was thinking of buying the nikon d3100 and had almost made up my mind till i came across the nikon d5100 which was introduced to the market in april this year . Its a great camera which shares a lot of things in common with the nikon d7000 like its cmos sensor and expeed 2 , infact it makes HD video at 30 fps which the much more expensive nikon d7000 does not , it also has features like HDR and great special effects which are not available on the nikon d3100 , it has the 11 point focus sens...

Its been a few months since I bought this camera and I can surely say that this is the best value for money one could get if he/she is getting into photography.

Comparing it to canon 550d- as I have used both- nikon d5100 provides better image quality along with user-friendliness over its rival. It is very easy to use the manual feature of this camera and the video quality is brilliant.

Over all I would recommend beginners to go for this product any day over its rival

Believe me, if you have the basics right your photographs will look like a pro's with D5100.
Important: whenever assessing the quality, count the number of pixels, but note the QUALITY and SENSITIVITY of the pixels. Compare D5100's sensitivity with that of it's canon counterpart (18MP) and you will find that its the same thing at a much lower price.

I have orderred this camera on 19th and got it deleivered on 23rd . I was initailly worried after seeing two reviews on NO STOCK .So i called customer service and confirmed the availability.

Regarding the camera , there are always arguments between Canon or Nikon. I personally like NIKON and i have gone for it.The swivel screens works well for a video but while taking photographs , you rarely be using the lcdwhile taking pics

This one is the best entry level camera, not only in the review but also can see it practically.
It really look like a magic stick in your hand for photography.

As for delevery of flipkart, I have order many product through filpkart. Its always good. But this D5100, has been delevered on proper time as I was willing to have it before Durga puja & I got it withing 3 days. Nice shoping site.

This is My first DSLR camera. After a month of research and Google finalized to buy this Nikon D5100. As a starter it is very good to have this camera, easy user interface to navigate through menus and settings. Had some captures through this camera over the past 8 months. Still learning photography, so couldn't explain the product more in technical perspective.
