I was really excited to receive my first DSLR which is Nikon D5200.

Flipkart impressed me a lot and delivered a good product in a quickly manner (took just 10 Houres).

My first impressions-

1. Well built camera - good quality materials
2. Not so heavy - easy to handle
3. Nice grip - fits easily and comfortably in my hand
4. Great image quality

Just received the camera. My first impressions -

4. First few shots - nice picture clarity and natural colour
- far better than my previous point & shoot - Canon PowerShot S5-IS
5. Tilt screen is very convenient - used a lot in my old cam...

Had to look for a decent basic DSLR to start with, & this well fit into the budget. The camera as such doesn't necessarily take alot of time to get used to, & once you are there, the camera speaks for itself.
Well, if there's anything I have to say about this camera, is just that this camera will make you a better photographer, period.

Nikon D5200 is my first DSLR and in my 3 weeks of ownership I have been quite happy with it. Took it for covering a dog show and got pretty good results with everything-auto mode. Progressing to manual focus now and learning the ropes.

I would recommend this camera for those who want to get their 1st DSLR.

Have owned it for 6 months now. And can say its a decent DSLR and one of the advanced and best below 50k.
The kit lens are ok ok type. But however u need to get different arsenal of lenses as per your needs.

I am a avid photographer. I have off and on owned various Canon and Nikon kits. D5200 is an addition to D40x kit, I already own. I would like to compare with D40x because in absolute terms all cameras from Nikon are amazing.
- D40x seems heavier to hold
- D5200 is faster camera, finds focus quicker, clicks quicker. This is amazing since 5200 is probably processing 3-4 times more data. D40x (10 Mpix), D5200 (24 Mpix).
- Auto ISO detection is superb
- Multi point focus is so much help compared ...

I was so exited about this camera and finally had it from flipkart.
This is the most advance budget camera with nice handy feature packs in 2013.
If you are new to SLR then just don't think it to work like point-n-shoot camera, these one required little understanding of SLR specific features like Aperture, ISO and shutter speed..
To get most of possible results try this with prime lens, you will be amazed by the result.. exactly like the high-end camera's magazine photos...

This is simply an amazing camera for beginners. Easy to use and lot of help available on youtube etc on how to use this. I also bought additional 18-55 prime lens, and both together give awesome results. Worth buying...

This is an awesome camera for beginner to intermediate users. This camera can do almost any thing and picture quality is awesome. Features are almost too many to count expect for WIfi, GPS and Touchscreen. Though they are not that important if you haven't used them before. Nikon has now introduced D5300 with Wi-Fi & GPS. I bought this camera with 18-105 lens from local dealer as I got it cheaper. For a DSLR it does everything excellent pictures, wonderful videos. If you can afford it buy it. ...

Amazing features and functions! Just buy it !! It completes almost all the needs of a beginner photographer and even for casual use at grand occasions and trips!
