Marginally better than EN EL 14
The life for EN EL14a is marginally better than EN EL14. I am yet to make a comparison. There is a small benefit I found with EN EL14a, it does not drain much when left idle inside the camera for a period of 1 week. Going for the 3rd recharge now. Number of shots increasing with every recharge. Expect something around 1000 shots without flash, 400-500 shots with flash, 45 minutes of continuous live view and video shooting.

I bought this battery to supplement the original that I got with the Camera. The new battery they sold to me is defective.
