    Description

Norwegian Wood is a story of loss and growing sexuality by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami.

    Summary of the Book

Set in Tokyo in the 1950s, this novel tells the story of Toru and Naoko. Toru is a quiet and abnormally serious young college student who loves Naoko, a beautiful and introspective young woman. Their relationship and passion are put to the test by the memory of their best friend, who died years ago. While Toru is satisfied at college, adapting to the life as well as the loneliness and isolation he faces there, Naoko begins to feel the unbearable pressures and responsibilities of life eat away at her. She draws back into her own world, and Toru begins to have feelings for another fiercely independent and sexually liberated woman. This is the story of their love, and their losses together, and Toru’s coming-of-age when he discovers his first true heroic love.

    Norwegian Wood

Beautiful book. It is like poetry, but only in prose passages. The flow is smooth, the transitions flow beautifully.

One of the best books I've read

I have read at least four to five books of Murakami before Norwegian Wood. I can say without any exaggeration that this is Murakami at his finest. Reading any of Murakami's books simulate your mind and soul, this one maybe more than the others.. There are so many quirky, poignant and wonderfully relatable moments in this book.. All written in the simplest prose.. You would not regret this buy!

Q:Does the book have a tough english or nrml english..?
A:It is not tough.. Reason could be that it was translated to English from Japanese and that's the case with all Murakami's book.
