He was associated with the Central Secretariat Service and retired as a Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs. He was trained at the reputed Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, Indian Institute of Public Administration, and the prestigious Royal Institute of Public Administration, London. He served as the Secretary of a Parliamentary Sub-committee on official language for over three and a half years. He has also worked as the Joint Director for more than 7 years at the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management and has educated thousands of officers.
