    Summary of the Book

Oleander Girl traces the life of Korobi Roy, a seventeen-year-old girl who was orphaned at birth. She belongs to a distinguished family in Kolkata and has enjoyed a safe and privileged childhood with her loving grandparents. A peculiar silence surrounds her parents’ death and she is unaware of what exactly happened to them. She clings onto the only inheritance from them – a love note she found hidden in her mother's book of poetry. Korobi always longed to find a love as powerful and intense as her parents’ and her wish finally comes true when she meets Rajat, the only son of an affluent business family. Soon after her engagement, Korobi’s grandfather succumbs to a heart attack, revealing startling secrets about Korobi’s past. Beautifully written

Chitra D B never disappoints her readers. Oleander girl set in Kolkata is mystically woven tale about a young woman who is shocked to learn about the secrets of her late mother. As usual, its compelling and every character makes a mark.. Korobi or the Oleander girl is simply wonderful
