The Olympus E-PL1 is a Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens system camera. This mirrorless camera is powered by YesPic V image processor. The camera has 12.3 megapixel High-Speed Live MOS Sensor with dimension of 17.3 mm x 13.0 mm. The E-PL1 supports aspect ratio of 4:3 and has a Dust Reduction system with Supersonic Wave Filter.

Body

The Olympus camera has dimension of 14.6 x 72.2 x 41.5 mm and weighs 296 g. This mirrorless camera has VF-2 external electronic viewfinder. The 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD has resolution of 230,000 dots. In terms of memory, the camera is compatible with SD and SDHC memory card. The BLS-1 Li-ion Battery included in the E-PL1 is capable of taking 290 pictures.

Performance

M.ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses can be mounted on this Olympus interchangeable lens system camera. With the help of MMF-2 adapter, any Four Thirds interchangeable lens can be mounted on this camera. The High-Speed Imager Auto focus has 11-area multiple focusing points. The camera supports various focusing points such as Single AF, Continuous AF, and Manual Focus.

The Olympus mirrorless camera supports both Auto and Manual sensitivity, which ranges from ISO 200 - 3200. With Bulb setting, the computerized focal-plane shutter of E-PL1 provides shutter speed of 60 - 1/2000 sec. This digital camera has built-in, retractable Flash and external Flash can also be used.

Features and Connectivity

The Olympus E-PL1 supports various scene modes such as Portrait, e-Portrait, Landscape, Landscape + Portrait, Sport, Night, Night + Portrait, Children, High Key, Low Key, DIS mode, Macro, Nature Macro, Candle, Sunset, Documents, Panorama, Fireworks, Beach and Snow. This Olympus camera also comes with six in-camera Art Filters.

The camera comes with In-body Image Stabilization system, which counters camera shake while shooting videos as well as clicking images. The face detection feature in the camera can detect up to 8 faces. The self timer can be set at a duration of 2 and 12 seconds. This Olympus camera is capable of shooting at 3 fps in Continuous Shot mode.

The E-PL1 mirrorless camera is capable of shooting 720p HD video at 30 fps. The camera supports AVI Motion JPEG movie format and RAW, JPEG, JPEG+RAW image formats. The connectivity features of this interchangeable lens system camera include USB 2.0 and Mini HDMI type-C.
