Well written and well researched book about Hinduism. Donigers' book is an interesting read and I liked it.

One should read this book after he has finished author's magnificent earlier volume "The Hindus: An Alternative History" (Penguin), which chronicled the 3000 years of Hindu tradition. I have read few pages but every thing is written with deep knowledge on the subject with references by the author , right wing elements can give negative rating to these kinds of book because it exposes the truth of hindu dharam and its philopsy on caste system , on women.
