Summary Of The Book
Biswanath Pati’s One Week With Her is set in the beautiful city of Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. It is a tale of love, lust, friendships, breakups and much more. The two protagonists of the novel are Ashish and Poonam, the two souls who are destined to meet again and again despite their breakups. The story spans through a short time period of seven days.
Set in a corporate training center in Trivandrum, the story revolves around an induction training program through which the two protagonists come to know each other. The induction program of a software company is the time during which the trainees are paid for doing minimal work. It is that period in which the trainees enjoy freedom and explore new things about their organization. The training days are memorable for everybody, and when the training center is located at a mesmerizing place such as Trivandrum, it is like an added bonus.
There are numerous beaches, temples and misty mountains, and Ashish and Poonam meet in such a setting. Ashish is a light-hearted smart guy who has come across various girls, but when he meets Poonam, he feels a special attraction towards her. She is on training in Kerala and is about to return to Bangalore to continue with her job. Ashish finds her different from others and that makes him fall for her. He has got just a week’s time to convince her about his love.
Other characters in One Week With Her are Ravi and Major Narayan. Ravi is one of Ashish’s colleagues and he is intelligent as well as handsome. Major Narayan, on the other hand, is the Administrative Head of the training center where Ashish and Poonam work. Will he be able to convince her? Are they meant to be together forever? Are they the real soul mates? Or are they just meant to be come across each other and move on with their own paths?
