Andrew Agassi is one of the best athletes of the world. In his autobiography Agassi pens down his journey from being a confused boy to becoming the world champion. He writes about the rigorous training sessions that he had to go through as a child. A ninth-grade dropout, he was sent to a Florida tennis camp that felt like prison. He goes on to write about his rebellious nature as a teenager and how he had become the style icon with his dyed hair and ear piercings, which changed the way tennis players dressed.

He further mentions about the struggles and despite raw talent, he felt confused and lost all the time. Agassi writes about his 1992 Wimbledon win and his crazy fan following. He describes each of his pivotal matches in detail and also writes about his troubled relationship with Brooke Shields. He talks about his loyal brother, coach and all the people who helped him regain his balance and confidence, and also the love of his life, Stefanie Graf.

One of the better sports biographies

A lot of sports biographies I have read across a gamut of sports are pretty bland and fail to enthuse the reader. This one is pleasantly different ... It is witty, honest (blatant at times) and crisp. It seamlessly takes u through the various phases of Andre's tennis stint ... starting as a 80s rebel to th2 2000s mature statesman of the game ... It's a no hold barred account and has some interesting anecdotes on his rollercoaster life, his relationship with Gil, his on-court rivalry with Samp...

OPEN-Andre Agassi: A saga for Tennis Lovers

The book takes you through the crests ,the size of craters, and through troughs, the size of mountains, of Andre Agassi.
The book has interspersed emotions of the great player on and off the field. The pace of the book keeps you on the edge of your seat and you may even have to kiss your night's sleep a goodbye because it is, simply put, extremely interesting. One of the best books I have read in recent times. A MUST READ.

Honest man using simple language, interesting read.

It's a good read, well-written, easy language, yet very expressive. Get to know how life can be for a tennis champ literally tortured to fame by his dad.
Despite going through hell for most of his life, Agassi finally gets a happy life in which he accepts himself with maturity and grace, and smartly obtains the woman he admires as his understanding and loving wife - Steffi.
Way to go, Agassi ! :-)

Great insight into the life of a Tennis player

If you've grown up in the 80s and 90s and have been somewhat alive during that period you would have heard of Andre Agassi. If you followed Tennis, then you know him as one of the legends. Open is a great book not only to understand that behind every grand slam win there is a lot of hard work, but also because Agassi truly opens up about his life. He talks about his "hate" for tennis, his relationships, and how everything eventually made him the person he turned out to be. An spectacular insi...

The best autobiography I ever read. I finished reading the book in 2 days. It was so intriguing. Anyone who doesn't know about tennis would also really love the book. How he hated tennis and he was still very good at it. This book will again redefine his iconic status!! A must read for everyone specially tennis lovers and Andre Agassi fans!!

The narration is absolutely brilliant. The journey of Agassi from a child prodigy to World No 1 then falling back to World No 141 and again working back his way to the Top is just wonderful.
Its a book not just for Tennis fans but it can be read by anyone interested in knowing a story of a successful person.

    A Fascinating Journey

An awesome book by an awesome person. This book is really very well written and is very easy to understand. It gives an insight on how tough a sportsman's life can be. Many people think that the tennis starts might be leading a very comfortable life, but after reading this book you will realize how tough it is to earn the money and fame which the game offers. Not does Agassi sum up his sports career, he also helps us know his dad, mom, sis, friends, teachers, the academy, his crushes and not ...

Rivetting is an understatement for this book

Synonymous to the title of the book, Andre Agassi's autobiography "Open" is a succinct portrayal of a sportsman's inner struggles with self, how he battles against those things in life which he hates to the core and turns the corner. It can prove to be inspirational for those of us who have ended up in the wrong profession with not much motivation.
Also Andre's humaneness and his deep concern for his entourage, especially his all out efforts to help them during their troubled times, leaves on...
