The Orphan Master’s Son is book about a young man, Pak Jun Do, who is the haunted son of a lost mother and a very influential father. His father runs a work camp for orphans, and this is where Jun Do gets his first taste of power. He instantly gets recognized by the superiors in the state for his instincts, loyalty and hard work, and embarks on a journey from where there will be no coming back. Pak Jun Do later becomes a professional kidnapper and has to struggle to stay alive. In a desperate attempt to save the woman he loves, he takes on the role of a rival to Kim Jong IL, the supreme leader of North Korea.
