    Our Moon has blood clots

I should start by saying that our history has huge gaps....I heard about this book on NDTV's program on Kashmiri Pandits and I ordered it in Kindle edition. I could not keep it down until I had finished it because finally I was learning about the plight of the Pandits; raw,as it happened with no efforts at glossing over the harsh reality of this ethnic cleansing in Modern India.
While living in Delhi I was a witness to the trickle of Pandits into Delhi and daily saw their pathetic little wood...

First few pages are so strong that you keep reading

This book is in form of a memoir. Some of the most moving sections of the book deal with his mother's great initial shock at being called a refugee and her consequent compulsive need to tell strangers that her home in Kashmir had 22 rooms.

As someone critical of state excesses in Kashmir and put out by reports of the discovery of unmarked graves and the detention of children, you are not sure you want to pick up Rahul Pandita's Our Moon Has Blood Clots about the exodus of the Pandits from th...

beautifully written deeply emotional extensively honest.

i was 4 years old when the armed rebellion took place in Kashmir i live next to habba kadal as he mentioned in his book "safakadal" i don't conceptualize much images of the exodus but i remember how militants brutally murdered KP's and how they burn their homes loot their household appliances not only that government buildings bridges schools everything was almost in shambles. there was a large public and administrative disorder .Law did not prevail fear anxiousness and uncertainty was cl...

    A must read

This book is a must read for all the Indians, because it really exposes the lies that the GOI had been projecting to the public on the issue of Kashmir for years. It scares me when I try to put myself in the shoes of the Kashmiri Pandits. If it can happen in Kashmir, it can happen anywhere in India. What if it happens to one of us? That is the thought which really sends shivers down my spine. It is sad to see successive governments not taking toll of the Kashmir situation and trying to come u...

Our moon has blood clots.... Must Read....... Must Read

This book took me back to the times of the exodus... I remember the days vividly till date. Being 8 years of age at that time I couldn't understand that my winter vacations at school would be my last adieu there. This well charted manuscript written in a lucid and crystal clear manner sheds the profane mannerism of the majority community over there. I was shaken and had a chill running down my spine while I read page after page. The horrific atmosphere prevalent that time was being recreated ...

Great and brave book...all Indians must read it to understand the plight of KPs

Great book, and more than great book it is a brave book that not many can even think to write in the so called secular country like India.

But I am not happy with the inclusion of Guj riots and subsequent abuse to RSS in this book, it was completely irrelevant and at the same time, abuse to RSS was too baseless. I do not doubt the secular and liberal credentials of Rahul Pandita, but am still not sure that why in India, a person can not prove his secular or liberal credentials without abusi...

Yes, our moon does have blood clots

Rahul Pandita s book is one of the finest exile literature coming out from Kashmiri Pandit Community, its not just his story, its my story and story of each of 7 lakh exiled Kashmiri Pandits. Rahul Pandita has aptly depicited the pain of an exiled community. Read this book to know why 7 Lakh Kashmiri Pandits were hounded out Kashmir, Read this book to know, that it was not first time they were hounded out, read this book to know, why it is often said by our parents" Hum reh nahin rahey theyy ...

    Must read

Although the book is essentially about the circumstances and the manner in which Kashmiri Pandits were forced out of their homes in the year 1990, any individual or community that has had to leave home under similar circumstances will relate to it.
The book is an eye-opener to our so called stable, secure life. It should be read by everyone who speak about human rights for terrorists and criminals but ignore those of innocents. A must read for any Indian who wishes to truly understand the Kas...

There have always been portions of our history that our supposed 'democratic' government loves to censor and hide (largely anything that does not explicitly deals with great deeds of Nehru-Gandhi and their sons and daughters). I would consider this a riveting documentation of one of them. The author's raw emotion in the book has often overflowed leading to a bit of incoherence but the human appeal that it provides is deeply touching. A must read for any Indian who wishes to truly understand t...

A true representation of the Kashmiri's wounds!!

This book was recommended by one of my friend, who is himself a Kashmiri Pandit and a victim of exodus from Kashmir due to Militancy in 90s. The books defines the kind of mindset Kashmir was holding with itself right from an era of partition between India and Pakistan. It also honestly and bravely depicts the way Pandits were targeted and betrayed by their own muslim friends and neighbors.. Excellent book
