Once you've decided which phone to buy, provide details of your old phone in the Exchange Offer form. Offer valid on select devices only.

Before you hit 'Buy Now', check with your pincode if the Exchange Offer is available in your location. Exchange is possible in eligible pincodes only.

Once the Order is placed, the new phone will be shipped.At the time of delivery of the new Phone, the delivery executive will assess the quality of the old phone, which will include downloading Yaantra diagnostics app, to check various conditions of the phone like WiFi, screen condition etc. the executive will offer a final price for your phone.

If you verbally accept the offered price, you will receive a consent message,the message with have details of your phone’s IMEI number, final offered price, and any defects that are assessed on your phone.Once You have provided consent to the Delivery Executive to handover Your Old phone/device and accept the offer price, the transaction is completed.

If you have both the charger and the original box (should contain the IMEI number of the phone) of the phone you’re trying to exchange available, you can handover the same as well to the Wishmaster.

Some models might have additional discounts on product exchange during the time of purchase. In case the newly purchased phone is returned backto Flipkart, the price of the phone will be refunded back to the customer. However the additional discount available during product exchange will not be subjected to refund.

Can the value of the phone be reduced?

There might be a difference in value if there are any of the following issues on your phone:

  • If there are any screen issues like cracks, the screen is coming out of the body, touch-screen issue, or discoloration, lines, scratches or any visible defect in the screen
  • If the display has any spots or dead pixels. If display has dust particles, front camera is not correctly centred in the punch hole, gumming or pasting visible between screen and body.
  • If there are any cracks on the body or if the body is bent/bulge/de-shaped.
  • If any of the parts/buttons/camera/sim tray etc. are missing.
  • If the battery capacity has dropped below a certain level.
  • If the battery is swollen - the phone will not be picked, due to safety reasons, and no exchange value will be offered for such phones.
  • Any other defects in the functional or physical condition of the device, including any internal components, screen or body or any other part of the device. For Apple devices, in addition to the Yaantra Diagnostic App, an Apple internal diagnostic test will also be run; The device value can change if any of the functionality checked by this diagnostic test fails. This diagnostic test will check various sensors and components, including but not restricted to Bluetooth, WiFI, Cameras, Sensors, Battery, FaceID, Screen and other part authenticity etc.
  • If your phone is under active EMI that has not yet been completely paid off, this could lead to a rejection of your exchange order. You can still receive the new phone you have ordered, by paying the exchange discount.

Depending on the condition of the phone, the value can be reduced. The value is pre-decided by Flipkart, basis any assessed defects. Customers can find the drop in value vs condition chart in the "View checks" section of the order in the "My orders" page. Final offered value will also be displayed along with any checks that failed, on the consent message that you will receive on your registered mobile number (using which the order was placed).

In case of a drop in exchange value, you can pay the difference amount, and still receive the new phone, and exchange your old phone.

Value reduction on the basis of the condition is only available on select pincodes. For some pin codes these issues will lead to rejection. Check eligibility on the exchange page in "Read all checks" section where the customer is shown the exchange value.

The following issues could lead to rejection:

  • Phone does not switch on.
  • Brand/model is different from the details provided by the customer to Flipkart at the time of purchase of the new device.
  • Screen lock (all forms of screen lock viz; pattern, pin, password, fingerprint, face recognition, smart lock, etc. needs to be deactivated) or iCloud lock (Apple phones) is not removed.
  • IMEI, on dialing *#06#, does not match with the IMEI information provided by the customer to Flipkart at the time of purchase of the new device.
  • Screen severely damaged, such that assessment can’t be performed.
  • Yaantra app can’t be downloaded, installed or run due to any reason.
  • For Apple devices, in addition to the Yaantra Diagnostic App, an Apple internal diagnostic test will also be run; the phone must be able to run and pass this test in order to be eligible for exchange. If this app is unable to run successfully, it could lead to rejection of exchange
  • If your phone is not switching on or able to undergo assessment during assessment at doorstep, you might get offered the price for a dead phone. This will be a minimal price given the condition of your phone. We will ensure the right disposal for your electronic waste.

In case the customer does not like the exchange value offered, he/she can choose to not give the exchange phone to Flipkart and pay difference amount to get the new phone.

How do I know if my device is eligible for Exchange Offer?

To verify if your old phone qualifies for the Offer, check the list of eligible devices in the Exchange Offer form.

What if I am not sure of my brand/model?

Try and check the same from the invoice of your phone, or by installing yaantra app from www.yaantra.com/fkd. In case you accidentally create an order with the wrong brand/model name, we might still be able to accept your phone, if your actual phone is eligible for exchange on Flipkart. In such a case, the value offered would be revised to the value of the phone that you actually have.

How do I avail the Exchange Offer?

We will need some details about your old phone, so please fill out the Exchange Offer form. You'll then see the effective final price of the phone you wish to purchase. Post that, the delivery executive will make a few checks during the time of delivery after which you can hand in your phone to our delivery executive at the time of delivery.

How do I send my old phone back?

Your old phone will be picked up by us at the time the new one is delivered. Kindly keep your old phone ready with all your data backed up. Make sure to remove all data after everything is completed at the doorstep, also remove your SIM Card, any data/memory cards etc. before handing over your phone.

How do I find the IMEI number of my mobile phone?

The IMEI number can be found by dialing *#06# on your phone, just go to the dialler app (from where you dial phone numbers), and type \#06# and press dial, if your phone supports multiple SIM cards, you will see multiple IMEIs, you can enter IMEI 1 to proceed.* You can also find it printed on your phone below the battery slot. You can also find it on your phone's original packaging or on the invoice of the phone.

Should the device be in working condition to qualify for this offer?

No, not necessarily. Customers can exchange working as well as dead phones on Flipkart. But if the device is in working condition, it needs to have all screen locks disabled and the iCloud account unlocked to initiate the exchange process.

The device should also not have a battery that is bulging. We do not accept such devices due to safety and fire concerns.

Why is my exchange value changing on changing delivery pincode?

Flipkart offers different exchange value in different geographies on the basis of prevalent market prices, supply chain costs and demand for different brands and models in different geographies..

Can I exchange more than one device towards a purchase?

You may only exchange one device at a time.

What's the bill value when I avail the Exchange Offer?

The invoice sent to you will have the final adjusted amount.

Can I provide one address for pick up and another for delivery?

No. The address has to be the same as the pickup and delivery happen simultaneously.

In case I wish to return the new phone I bought in the Exchange Offer, will my old phone be shipped back to me?

Unfortunately, the phone you are returning cannot be shipped back to you. Please ensure that you delete all data on your phone before pick up. Flipkart or the Seller will not bear any liability with respect to the phone.

Can I hand in a different phone for Exchange?

You can exchange another phone, subject to that phone being eligible for exchange on Flipkart. The value offered might change in such a case, basis the actual phone given for exchange and its condition.

Any reminders before I Exchange my phone?

Kindly ensure all your data is backed up and cleared from your old phone before giving it to the executive. You should also remove the memory card, Flipkart.com or the seller will not be responsible for any misuse as a result.

In the event the device is not working or the pick up executive is not able to do an iCloud unlock check or screen lock check/IMEI check due to a phone being "factory reset", the device will not be picked up by the executive and the exchange will not go through. Lastly, please keep your phone charged to at least 50% to ensure that the pickup executive can conduct all the tests without the battery running out.

Once you have decided to handover the device to our Delivery Executive, kindly ensure the device is factory reseted before the handover.

The phone I'm exchanging is a dual SIM device. Do I have to provide both the IMEI numbers while filling the Exchange Offer form?

You need to just mention one IMEI number while filling the form.

Why do I see a pickup charge for availing the exchange offer?

When you avail the exchange offer, our courier partner picks up your old device right from your doorstep. It is then shipped to the seller in lieu of the new device. The pickup charge covers pickup from doorstep, packing and shipping of your old device.

If my old item is found ineligible for the exchange during delivery, is it possible to make an additional payment at that time and collect only the new product?

If your exchange item does not qualify for pick up, you can still get your new product by paying an additional amount (equivalent to the discount that you got for your exchange item) in cash at the time of delivery of your new device.
