Yes, it charges each battery individially. for 3/4x AA batteries the output current is 800 mA each hence total 3.2 A. For 1-2 AA batteries the output is 1600 mA each which I strongly don't recommend. If you're using only 1 or 2 two batteries the current is very high.

For AAA batteries the current is 300 mA each for 3-4 batteries (Total 1.2 A) and 600 mA each for 1-2 batteries.

Got the charger yesterday..working fine without heating my eneloop batteries. the charge indicators give clear indication of the charge present in the battery. the charger protects the battery from over changing. thanks to flipkart for timely delivery

Product is good. Only issue is that you may face problem in charging non-panasonic batteries due to size issue.
