This is more of a 'life skills' or 'survival guide' for the
software industry. A very well written and fun-to-read book. If you are passionate about your job the you'll love this book.
After knowing that this is the 'next' edition of the book:
"My job went to India: and all I got was this lousy book", I was a
bit set aback and intimidated, but, Chad is not criticizing anyone/anything. Its worth reading, filled with lot of personal experiences.

This is an amazing book which gives insight about how to manage your career in software Industry. A lot of things, you will feel like you already know , are explained in such a way that leaves a long lasting impact . Must read. and it is not just for software industry, you can relate it with any industry you work for.

If you want to know about how the job market works, how to choose the right technology and right domain, then this is the book you should learn. Sooner or later your IT career may face stagnation in growth-wise or hit recession but you know how to handle it when you read this book.

I find the structure of the book to be somewhat inspired by "Eat that frog- 21 ways to stop procrastinating"
