Wide coverage. Nice for anyone wanting to program in Perl.

The book covers almost every aspect of Perl programming. Although it is a little outdated ( it serves as a reference for Perl v5.6 while Perl v5.24 is the latest version as of now), it still is very helpful for beginners of Perl programming. It nicely explains almost all functions used commonly and how they behave when different data types like scalars, hashes, arrays or lists are sent as arguments to those and states what they return in each of those cases. Best book, but have some points to note.

No doubt the book is good, but those who wants to learn Perl now, for them i want to tell that the book is of second edition and it was released in 2001, and today there is more new versions of Perl available. So these book does not covers the new versions.
