I like oops concept in this book. Simple and descriptive. It has basic concept and advance feature like socket, CGI, Perl TK, DBI. It cover all most all content in perl with CPAN modules. This is good book for beginner as well as expert

The book covers almost every aspect of Perl programming. Although it is a little outdated ( it serves as a reference for Perl v5.6 while Perl v5.24 is the latest version as of now), it still is very helpful for beginners of Perl programming. It nicely explains almost all functions used commonly and how they behave when different data types like scalars, hashes, arrays or lists are sent as arguments to those and states what they return in each of those cases. Really good book. In depth coverage of all the concepts with ample examples.

No doubt the book is good, but those who wants to learn Perl now, for them i want to tell that the book is of second edition and it was released in 2001, and today there is more new versions of Perl available. So these book does not covers the new versions.
