Superb acting by Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi & Kiron Kher; and excellent direction by Vijaya Mehta (remember her acclaimed role in Govind Nihalani's Party). If all these recommendations are not enough, there is more... a beautiful story! But this film is not for everyone, it is for those who love Indian New Wave or Parallel Cinema.

Pestongee is an extremely beautiful film.Its a must watch for all the lovers of meaningful cinema. Naseeruddin Shah & Anupam Kher are fantastic in this classic directed by Vijaya Mehta. Excellent DVD from Shemaroo "Cinemas of India"

The movie is very good. I have watched it before. The problem is with the quality of the DVD. It's not good. The sound is too low.

Slow and steady movie with a very touching and practical lesson. Gives a glimpse of Parsi culture too. Must watch for all folks who are searching for happiness :)

Career best of Nasruddin Shah as Parsi guy also Skillfully supported with Sabana azmi, Anupam kher too. mainly Performance based movie with touching sotryline, Human nature's & Relation's Complexity and Ambience of parsis made it very special for cine lovers
