When your aspirations of becoming a Bollywood superstar are interrupted by the wants of your mother, would you chase your dreams or listen to the needs of your loved one? Directed and written by Rajkumar Santoshi, and starring Shahid Kapoor, Ileana and Padmini Kolhapure, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is an action comedy film about a man whose mother wishes for him to become a brave police inspector. However, the young man has a dream of becoming a reputed actor. Hilarious circumstances unveil themselves after the protagonist is publicized by the media as a police officer after he helps a lady out with a hitch while dressed as cop for a photo shoot.
