Don't buy this blu ray player
This is one of the rare blu ray players that doesn't offer DTS-HD Master Audio codec support. Even its older version 2600 has this support. Almost all the latest Blu ray discs are encoded in the DTS-HD audio format hence its necessary to have that in the player else the sound is dull and lifeless. I made a big mistake buying this and am now running behind the Philips customer care to see if firmware of this player can be updated to support this format. This is good player ... I seriously have no issue in regards to the work-ability of the player. I have tested it for last 72 hours and tested with all formats .. it plays exceptionally well with no issue as such.

Excellent BD Player with great USB support
This is a great solution for playing Blue ray Disc/DVD/VCD along with playing movie files from your USB drives. The playback quality is awesome I tested it with some 1080p full HD video clips played smoothly.
The interface is bit dated and the remote feels very cheap especially the rubbery small buttons. Overall great value for money. Go for it!!

Philips BDP2900 blu Ray Player
The product is not satisfy there is no composite video output. it is a great failure for this model. It wont support in the analog TV old models TV. only it supports for the Digital TV. So better go for 3000 series which contains the Digital output with composite video output..

Quite Happy with the purchase
Purchased this product 10 months back. The product delivered had some problems playing files from USB pen drive. Since it was still under 30-days guarantee, Flipkart replaced the product without any fuss. The 2nd piece delivered has been working pretty well. It plays regular DVDs and mp4 files from USB pen drive without any problems. Since I have a kid my major usage has been playing thorugh pen drive.
Quite satisfied with flipkart service an doverall performance of the DVD Player.

And people are you nuts!! Buying a blue ray disk on a TV that does even support HDMI !! stop whining about no component or whatever, and go buy a vcr or a tape deck.. not a blu ray player
