  • Description

Physics and Philosophy, by Werner Heisenberg, is a classic account that discusses the significant ideas of quantum revolution, and the author's own Uncertainty Principle.

    Summary of the Book

Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle shook the world of quantum mechanics as it could explain a lot of phenomena in the physical world. The principle, as Heisenberg himself had once stated, explains how the more precisely the position of a particle is determined, the less accurately its momentum can be known, and vice versa. In this book, the genius theoretical physicist explains how certain concepts and words lose their meaning in the world of quantum physics and relativity. He tries to describe how philosophy and physics are connected by delicate strings of man's understanding of the two domains. Heisenberg’s assertions leave a profound philosophical impact as it talks about our view of the world in its entirety and our perception of the nature of reality.

    About Werner Heisenberg

Werner Heisenberg was born in Germany. He was a theoretical physicist who is, even today, best-known for his Uncertainty Principle published in 1927. For this work, he was honoured with the Nobel Prize in Physics “for the creation of quantum mechanics” in 1932. Heisenberg is also famous for his outstanding contributions to the fields of the atomic nucleus, theories of the hydrodynamics of turbulent flows, subatomic particles, cosmic rays, and ferromagnetism.

The book exists only because you look at it...

Still at chapter 3 of this wonderful little 200 odd page book. Real heavy read. Not recommended for complete novices at the concepts of physics. Everyone ELSE....ENJOY the intricacies...wonder why we exist..do we exist?IS there really a world beyond our peripheral vision?
