Every cloud has a silver lining

I am associated with one of the enterprises featured in this book, Barefoot Acupuncturists. So I often need to buy this book to gift to our funders and supporters; including acupuncturists who come from overseas to work at our clinics.

Just recently we required 5 copies of this book. I couldn't go to any physical bookstores to buy this book, because I'm recovering from a fractured leg. So I logged on to Flipkart and placed the order to be delivered directly to the clinic. It was delivered in...

This book Does NOT Connect the Dots.

Well, i ordered this book even before it was released. So, as usual FK did a great job in delivering the book on time that too with the limited edition Autographed by Rashmi Bhansal herself. But, the book turned out to be a BIG disappointment. Unlike the last 3 books of amazing success stories, this book is a re-creation of discovery channel episode on Dharavi. I finished the book in about 4.5 hours of time. Not for once was my adrenaline high.

If you like reading books, then probably go ah...

Poor Little Rich Slum

Thanks to flipkart for delivering in time. As regards to the Book, each one should read the book as this portrays positive face of Dharavi which is popularly known as slum area. The book gives insight to small entrepreneurs who are into various businesses and running successfully. One of the important aspects of Dharavi is that most of the people living there are reluctant to vacate / leave the place as they have one or the other emotional attachments. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Must read, if you want to know more about Dharavi.

A good and easy read. It is must have if you are eager to know about Dharavi. The book is well presented and is mixed with lot of good pictures to help you connect more to the subject.

It divides cleanly into four sections by first introducing Dharavi, then talking about the different businesses flourishing in Dharavi, then later talking of the various social welfare initiatives under works there and finally about the future that holds for the huge population.

A nice book and definitely val...

Different Dharavi- Different Rashmi

this books showed that entrepreneurship is not born in B-Schools. more than a passion it is a survival for most. this book is different from first three, so we can not compare PLRS with other 3. this book is a kind of research report. i didn’t like the photography that much. my rating is 4 overall.

India needs more entrprising people like Dharavi........ wish our politicians and babus read this book

Welcome change, book is written in a simple form with beautiful pictures of Dharavi along with its most beautiful people, who are doing a great job quietly in Dharavi. Authors have done great job by showcasing some of the honest, passionate and focused people, who are not privileged to go to good schools/colleges/universities. Their inner strength, convictions and attitude not only transformed their career but of many others who are working with them. They are living with dignity and pride.

There can be, and there are success stories among slum dwellers

People have this strange quality of finding consolation about their own lives by looking at the disadvantaged circumstances of others. When I got this book, I thought it was written for such an audience. Fortunately, it was not.

While this book doesn't go into the murkier and darker side of what happens in Dharavi *and doesn't claim that it does anywhere*, it does a very good job of highlighting some success stories that might have easily missed people's attention. These stories simply dese...
