    About Norman Vincent Peale

    Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was a well known author, minister, and motivational speaker. His other popular books include The Power Of Positive Thinking, The Power Of Confidence, You Can If You Think You Can, Thought Conditioners, Positive Thinking Every Day: An Inspiration For Each Day Of The Year, Positive Imaging: The Powerful Way To Change Your Life, Courage And Confidence: An Anthology, The Art Of Real Happiness, Why Some Positive Thinkers Get Powerful Results, and Six Attitudes For Winners.

    Peale was born in 1898 in Bowersville, Ohio. He attended Bellefontaine High School in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He went to college at Ohio Wesleyan University, and later studied theology at the Boston University School of Theology. Peale became an ordained minister of the Methodist Church in 1922. He joined the Reformed Church in America in 1932, and served as a pastor in the Marble Collegiate Church, Manhattan. He was instrumental in increasing the church membership from 600 to over 5000, and became one of New York City’s most popular preachers. He is the progenitor of the positive thinking theory, and many of his books on the theory have become all-time bestsellers. Peale died in 1993 at the age of 95.

He served as the pastor at Marble Collegiate Church, Manhattan, for a period of 52 years, and became one of the most famous preachers in New York City. He started a radio program called Art of Living, which lasted for 54 years. He was also the subject of a 1964 film called One Mans Way. He received the Presidential Medal Of Freedom for his contribution to the field of theology. He passed away at the age of 95, in New York.
