HOME COMPOSTER: Home composter is a machine to treat kitchen waste. Kitchen waste is all the waste that is generated in the kitchen in the form of vegetable & fruit peels, food and cereal waste, etc.. These can be treated at source by using home composter. A set of microbes identified for solid waste management help in making waste into compost. The Organic compost is good for gardening & agricultural purposes. The best compost for the gardens is the manure obtained from home composting. PLC home composter consists of the following components : 1 – 60 ltr bucket with lid – 01no. 2 – Round strainer plate with legs - 01no. 3 – Drain tap – 01no. 4 - Microbe culture – 1 pkt. 5 – Metal stand - 01 no. Fill the composter with kitchen waste and add microbe culture layer by layer and get liquid fertilizer from the bottom tap. Dilute the liquid with water in 1: 10 ratio and apply to plants as liquid fertilizer. After 21 days one can take out decomposed compost from the bottom layer and apply as soil conditioners / nutrient to plants / pots. If the waste generated is large one can put 2 / 3 bins for easy handling of waste in a cyclic manner.
