This guide has been revised and updated to help Common Admission Test aspirants prepare for this competitive test. This guide has been designed to comprehensively cover each topic that is part of the Quantitative Ability syllabus.

How To Prepare For Quantitative Aptitude For The CAT starts off with an introduction about the format of QA in this online examination. The book is then divided into blocks, and each one has a number of chapters within. Block I contains information about Number Systems, and Progressions. The first chapter explains the Remainder Theorem, the concept of the Great Common Divisor, and number of zeroes in an expression. Block II gives examples of situations where Allegations can be put to use. The chapters included in the following block are Percentages, Interest, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Time, Speed and Distance, and Ratio, Proportion and Variation. The 11th chapter is a part of Block IV, and it is further divided into two parts. Part I focuses on Geometry, while the second part explains Mensuration. This block also has a chapter on Coordinate Geometry. The next block of the guide has four chapters, which are Functions, Inequalities, Quadratic Equations, and Logarithms. The last block explains to students principles of Permutaftions and Combinations, Probability, and Set Theory.

Each chapter of this guidebook has questions at the end which are listed into three sections as per their level of difficulty. In addition to this, the author has also added many tips and shortcuts to help students in increasing their problem solving skills. no solutions for difficult portions,to complex hints makes it difficult for beginners to follow it...but if u have gone through your coaching materials and you have a tutor to clarify you your doubts then it can work as a reference book....thats it...

For a first timer this book can do no good....Level of difficult is divided into three parts .but sometimes it becomes difficult to solve some probs from LOD 1 ...its also very hard to understand the basic concepts of some portions...Not a book for those who have just started preparing for the competitive exams...

Best book for Quantitative Aptitude

The book was really awesome.It helped me a lot to enhance my aptitude skills.Earlier I was facing a lot of problems in most of the chapters of quant like Number System,Algebra,Probability etc.According to me,Quantitative Aptitude for CAT by Arun Sharma is the best book for the CAT aspirants.

fantastic

The book is good enough to give you a decent score in DI. The questions are divided into different layers of difficulty.The book also familiarises us in every section in great depth.

The people having time limit problems may in particular buy this one. the practice this one gives really helps to reduce the time.

But there are also certain parts, like convert the information to a pie chart, draw a bar graph etc.... which i feel is a bit crappy. They may help us to be familiar with the proc...

Perfect example of clarity

This book is a classic example of clarity and detailing. It gives an easy-to-understand matter to know Quantitative Aptitude better.

All the chapters are well covered with different types of questions on that chapter. The reader gets accustomed to all kinds of possible questions which can be asked in the CAT.

Before purchasing the book you consider the following points.

1. If you start preparing from basics than don't buy the book. Because the standard is high. If you're familiar with topics than it will easy to carry the book.

This fifth edition is the indispensable book for the CAT preparation . Moreover the solutions added to this edition are the icing on the cake . This book is now the best of the lot among the QA books for cat preparation .

Ridiculous

This is by far one of the worst worded books that i have ever come across for studying quantitative aptitude.

The sums in several sections do not make any grammatical or logical sense. The "indianism" of the language used is so apparent and often confuses the reader. I have wasted tremendous amount of time trying to comprehend the logic to questions.

eg. of incorrect grammar are included on pg 192 sum 8, pg 188 sum 10. Among other issues the book requires a thorough review of the solutions ...
