It starts with Basic concepts to core knowledge of Igneous and Metamorphic rocks. Good diagrams. Summary is most helpful.

Worth!

Thanks to Flipkart for its fast and well packaged delivery as always it has been.
The book is really awesome for UG as well as PG study. Igneous petrology has been very well explained with all processes well illustrated. Very easy to understand. Just as you start reading, you cant close the book until you finish the chapter that you are reading! (something like a novel)

Metamorphic Petrology has been explained to a good extent. It would have been better if it was more.

Good Book on Igneous & Metamorphic Petrology

Given the price of the book & also otherwise it is a must read. Although Igneous petrology have been described in much more detail than required. Metamorphic petrology would have been much better with some more explanation. Still a very good book and the great thing is that it is an economy edition.

This book is a good buy for UG and PG students. The language is very lucid and sometimes funny, which is a good thing. Igneous petrology is masterfully explained. There could have been some improvement in the explanation of metamorphic petrology. One thing that I did not appreciate was that the explanation for a new term or concept was sometimes given in a matter chapter. This, however, is a minor inconvenience.
