  • Description

Arshi is twenty-five years old and she still has no clue as to how she is going to set things right in her life. Whether it is work or her personal life, everything seems to be going downhill and there is nothing she can rejoice.

    Summary of the Book

Arshi’s life is a mess and it doesn’t seem like any good is going to come out of her efforts to make it otherwise. To begin with, her blonde mother has been trying too hard to fit into the Indian society and has been welcoming their guests with a traditional aarti. Nothing can get more embarrassing than a parent whose popularity is rising because of reasons that are not considered 'cool'. The man that Arshi is hitting on doesn’t seem to be showing my interest and even when he does, it just isn’t enough. Her flatmate is frustrated because her parents are not happy with her decision to marry her boyfriend and Arshi’s boss is a scoundrel. What Arshi craves right now is a whole lot of alcohol and love. This is a hilarious story that many of us who are single will be able to relate to.

    Dull – Depressing - Vapid

I m truly sleepy - I will write few lines. I must mention a friend of mine - who aspires to be a writer - He has written 2 books - & no one wants to publish them. I've read both of them & I can honestly say one thing here - His work may not be extra-ordinary - but his refreshing & both books are page turning filled with sparkling characters.
And then here I pay money for reading Ms Dhillon's insipid fare. The book is unimaginative & creatively hollow. I don't even remember one character - I d...

    Don't read...

I was lucky to not buy this book and borrowed it from a friend. The crappiest book I have ever read. Wonder how the author found a publisher for this one. I highly recommend that you stay away from this book. Not worth a penny!

    Read at your own risk!

Not as good as the blog

I must say I'm pretty shocked by the kind of reviews that have been posted here. Sure the book is no Pulitzer-winner, but I don't think it deserves such venom. I had plenty of problems with the book myself -- there was no absolutely no plot, there was too much rambling, language could have been crisper, and so on. It read like an insanely long blog post, so in essence, I do agree with some of the negative comments. But what I disagree with the pretentiousness bit. I picked up the book BECAUSE...

    A waste.

This book is garbage. I repeat, garbage. There is not a storyline per se, except you get to hear a continuous monologue of a whiny, obviously confused, entitled, and horribly stupid 25 year old woman (probable going on 16 by the looks of it, not 25-something). All this book talks of is the drunken sexual escapades which aren't justified at all as I said before, there is NO STORYLINE! By the looks of it, its just a printed tangible version of Miss Reddy's blog; one post taken from here and ano...

    Sameness and Repetitiveness

I have no idea why Arshi, the protagonist of the story, has to make such a hullabaloo out of her life's so-called "ramblings". They are not ramblings or escapades or even experiences. They are just completely equivocal narratives that mean one thing one minute and another thing the next minute. It's true that Arshi's attitude reflects a lot of rich young India's perspectives and life stories, but then, there's nothing else left to the book. The essence of it ends there. Ms. Madhavan makes a m...
