The family goes on a hunt for the box during which they come across crooks, strange detectives and annoying relatives.

    Lila Majumdar is a Bengali writer who grew up in Shillong and Kolkata. She has a Master’s in English from Calcutta University. The writer has won many awards, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.

    • Born on 26 February 1908, Lila Majumdar grew up in Shillong and Kolkata\nand went on to do a Master’s in English from Calcutta University. At the\nrequest of poet Rabindranath Tagore, she taught briefly at Shantiniketan\nbefore settling down with a dental surgeon. It was only after her marriage\nthat her literary career took off, and she never looked back, writing more\nthan one hundred and twenty books. \n\nShe has won many awards for her works, including the Sangeet Natak\nAkademi Award in 1963 for a comic musical drama called Bok Badh\nPala (Death of the Demon Bok). Her autobiography Aar Kono Khaney\n(Somewhere Else) won the Rabindra Puroshkar in1968, and Haldey\nPakhir Palok (The Yellow Bird) received the Bengal state award for\nchildren’s literature in 1960. She celebrated her ninety-ninth birthday in\n2007 and died the same year on 5 April.

    Simply awesome

    the book is in excellent condition and ofcourse who does not know about the burmese box? its a legendary book in bengali. the english version is equally good though you miss the bengali original vocabs
