At times when some of us are doused with choices, we don’t know what to pick and what to leave. Deeya is in a dilemma and knows that one wrong move will change her life forever. Draupadi in High Heels is all about the choices a girl makes and how she comes to conclusions which will determine her future.

    Summary of the Book

Deeya belongs to a rich family and is a spoilt brat who owns an elite fashion store. It’s time for her to choose a life partner and her parents want to arrange a Swayamwar sort of an event for her. This will help her choose the right person is what they think.

Will Deeya be able to choose the right man for herself? As this is not about picking a pair of shoes, she realises that her life is very similar to that of Draupadi. Read Draupadi in High Heels to find out if Deeya will make the right choice or carve her own path.

    good buy

good entertaining book. a modern adaptation of epic Mahabharata. it highlighted some points that no one might have thought. life always gives choices. it depends on how we use them. completed the book in 3 hours. though the end is a little predictable it is worth a read.

    A fun read

This is not a fantastic piece of literature, but as a modern take on Mahabharata, or even as a normal story I enjoyed this book. There are a few weak points, but more or less it is an interesting and fresh read. Portrayal of Bheem should have been better though. The events, names and other details have been quite attractive and nicely put in. I enjoyed the book alot.

Very well put up mythology against reality.

Very well written. The book won my heart at the climax of character Kunti (named as Kranti) using Honesty over Selfishness!!

Hope the actual (mythology) Mahabharata should have been this way.

The story idea is taken very well. specifically Draupadi & Kunti characters (named Diya & Kranti). The language should have been more colloquial. Every scene is described so well that i actually lived it while reading, from talks to dress to food....et.al.

Good fiction that is well put up!!!

    Chance & Choice !

A story that tells you that chance and choice have a 50-50 say in your life.
But life does give you a chance to make choices for the most important decisions of your life. If you want to drive home a philosophical message, there is no better way than a story. And this is one. A little drag in the beginning but a nice read overall.

    Wonderful

Good work Aditi Kotwal, loved it from the first to the last page.
Each and every character has been etched well. Glove fit into the handbag while travel.
A book each and every girl should read. Its not only Draupadi but what most of the girls goes through in her life.

    Twist with Mythology?

A few years back, I read a book called the Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. The book told Draupadi's version of happenings of the epic - from her childhood experiences, her treasured friendship with Krishna, her unexplained connection with Karna and complicated marriage.

Draupadi in High Heels unfolds the complex personal life to an unawares Mumbai girl. She is an heiress of a multi-million empire and speaks the language of the Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin. Thro...

    OK..nothing great

It seems like something straight out of a cliche`d Bollywood movie. Girl meets boy, hurts him and their paths separate only to be reunited later on.
There's not much to the story or storytelling, the language is cheesy and the characters are pretty shallow.
Good if you have run out of other literature to read.
