The Manifesto of the Communist Party is a political pamphlet written by two great men of the history of mankind, Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, commissioned by the Communist League. The authors drafted it in between December 1847 and January 1848, originally in German and published in London on 21 February 1848. This English edition of the Manifesto of the Communist Party is a reproduction of the translation made by Samuel Moore in 1888 from the original German text of 1848 and edited by Frederick Engels. Included are Engels' annotations for the English edition of 1888 and the German edition of 1890 as well as all the authors' own prefaces of the various editions, the last being reprinted with some changes in translation, from various English editions. The footnotes and the notes at the end of the book are based on those given in the German and Chinese editions.
