This is the story of five students who could not crack the esteemed IIT entrance examinations. and thus joined a reputed state level engineering college to pursue their ambitions in engineering. Their parents, families and relatives did not have trust in these students’ future. Due to the frustration of failing to secure admission in any IIT even the students lost faith in themselves. With the dream of a coveted engineering job and the aspirations of a humble middle-class family in their minds they started their engineering life. On the very first day of college, they got the title of back-benchers, which stayed with them throughout their lives. The students experienced varying emotions and situations ranging from love breakups to suicide from fights to police lockups and many more which are taboo and a rarity for this age of engineering colleges. The story revolves around the journey of these backbenchers—how they fared in college how they lived and achieved their ambitions what they are up to now and where they live.
