Kuttanad is a nature’s paradise and gift of backwaters. It is well known for its vast stretches of paddy fields, coconut lagoons, inlets of habitats, criss cross canals and water surrounded lands. Nearly a decade ago the majority parts of Kuttanad were surrounded with water and isolated from outer world which can only access by boats and canoes. This land was untouched and undisturbed by the peoples for centuries.
Predominantly by the agrarian community the life moves on by agriculture and fishing. They followed the indigenous method of cultivation until they forced to depend the modern machinery due to lack of farmers recently. This land was my favorite and had a longtime dream to write a book about this nature’s wonders and delights. This book will throw light into the ethnic rural village culture and cuisine which owned by generations. It was not as easy as I thought and realized once I started the journey to capture the real life of this land. It took nearly seven years to complete this work to give the perfection what I had in dreams, tried my best to show maximum justice to the region and I am certainly sure that you all will love it.
