Q:What does gravity based water purifier mean
A:These use activated carbon or UF for purification instead of electricity. Activated carbon absorbs impurities while UF contains a membrane that separates impurities when the water passes through.

Best purifier for low cost
Trust me, I have been using this purified for around 4 years (Since 2008). And I did not find any problems till now.
Points to remember:
-> Use only soft water, do not use hard water.
->This purifier does not use RO, hence hard water does not get purified.
->Clean the product once in 2 to 3 months. (This is obvious, you must maintain your purifier as it purifies your water, and the dust or the impurity remains inside the purifier, which you need to clean it by yourself.)
->Buy the battery kit...

BE CAREFUL
Pureit water purifier only filters soft water and not hard water.
Hard water can only be purified by reverse osmosis type filter.
which costs around 13K from HUL.
I had purchased this water purifier then I felt that there was some problem with the water.I called HUL helpline they had sent a person to give a demo and shockingly i was informed that my water purifier can not filter HARD WATER i.e water taken from pumps/wells.

Mesh Problem
I agree that the initial mesh (cleaning filter) is a real problem for this product, Well I dont know if I can get the replacement of this, I would like to mention it with a lighter note that I have washed it with close up tooth paste gel :) & now it working good & for me the replaced batteries have worked for a quite long time. probably either you got the duplicate battery or these is some serious issue with the water supply source in your locality.

Average Product
Well to me, this seems to be just an average product. The build quality could have been far better. It says 14L + 9L capacity but if i fill 14 litres in the upper/inlet chamber, the 9L storage chamber starts overflowing. So, this 23L total capacity seems to be misguiding. If anyone has doubts on this, I can demonstrate my piece...
To add without any bias, this time flipkart delivery was slow -lagging schedules, however the packaging was really nice.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS FRAUD PRODUCT
We bought a HUL pureit 5 months ago from a local shop. Some weeks ago the germ kit color went from white to red in a single day and it stopped working. The HUL people do not pick up on dialing the customer care number and we got no response on ordering one online.
Today we bought a kit from a local shop after much searching and had to replace it ourselves, since they refused. Now the lower container is leaking and we do not know what to do.

The product is good as of now
The product was delivered well before the scheduled day, and was a tad difficult to put together, the manual aint written or illustrated too well.
But the assembly in place, the product works. You get crystal clear water in about 30 mins after you have filled the upper level. Its been 15 days. Going great as of now!
