A nose-piercing in India is seen as auspicious, as well as, graceful. A gold nose pin is a part of the traditional “solah-shringar” routine that women, especially married women follow. A special kind of hoop nose pin, called the “Nath” is one of the gifts bestowed upon a young bride by her husband. The nath marks the complete circle of a woman’s life and is a mark of a woman’s married status. However, in these modern times, traditional gold nose pins have undergone several transformations. Today they are a part of your style statement and reflect your individuality. You will find interesting gold nose pin designs online, however, before you buy a gold nose pin online, you should know about the common types and designs of nose pins available.
Designs of Nose Pins:
Over the ages, people have become creative with the art of body piercing. Nose piercings themselves can be done in 6-7 different ways, where you have the traditional designs of piercing one or both nostrils or piercing the septum along with more modern piercing designs like a triple piercing, where both nostrils along with the septum are pierced. To accommodate such designs and your personal style, designers have come up with innovative gold nose pin designs:
Nose Rings
Nose rings boast a hoop design and loop around one end of your pierced nostril. A nath follows a similar design, but it comes with a gold or pearl string which extends across your cheek to your hair. This string has a hook on one end, this hook is used to latch the string of the nath in your hair. In other designs, you may get a single loop, with danglers that reach your lips. If you are looking for something simple, you may also opt for a simple ring.
Labret Nose Pins
A labret nose pin again is a traditional design, which comes in two parts. The first part of the nose pin is where you find a precious stone, or a glass bead, or a metallic ball. This is attached to a hollow, cylindrical stem. The other part of the nose pin is designed like a nail, with a long stem and a flattened base. The stone or metallic ball is attached to the exterior side of your nostril, and it is kept in place with the help of the nail-shaped pin, which provides stability from inside the nostril. Such a gold nose pin is popular among women, as it ensures that the pin remains in its place.
L-Shaped Gold Nose Pins
An L-shaped nose pin comes with a stone, or a glass bead, or a metallic ball on top of a long and thin metallic wire. This wire is then cut and moulded into the uppercase “L” shape. You can easily slide this nose pin through your piercing. The shape ensures that this nose pin is locked in place even if the stone gets caught in your clothes.
Bone Nose Pins
Bone nose pins are easy designs, and they consist of a stone, or a glass bead, or a metallic ball sitting on top of a long stem. The bone nose pin resembled a stud, the only difference being that the bone nose pin has a small metallic ball at the other end of the stem. You can simply slide this nose pin into your piercing. The small ball, which enters the interior of your nostril keeps the pin in place.
