Well, this review won't affect anyone since apart from Preskill's Lecture Notes - there isn't any printed stuff (excluding original papers) written on this subject that is nearly as popular and complete and people will buy it regardless.


Pros :

1) Very clear explanation.
2) Example Problems are doable (not the Jacksonish nightmare stuff).
3) They state clearly which is a theorem , what are the assumptions etc.
4) Reference to papers is very clearly mentioned and made easy to find on net.

It's a book that presents a holistic approach towards this subject. From basics of information theory, communication, quantum physics, to manufacturing and the current technologies. If you are looking for just an introduction to Quantum Computing, still the first 2-3 chapter provides the material in a much more fluid way that other available books. It's a treasure to withhold. The book does include some advance materials as well, for those ready to delve deeper.

This book written by Nielson and Chuang is one of the most appreciated and recommended books by experts in this field of Quantum Computing and this book is still relevant even after 2 decades.

Few readers have mentioned that page quality is not good, but I want to clarify here is that it is NOT the case. Page quality of this book is decent considering the price.
